Spindrop is the technological efforts of Dave Dash. There are three main parts to Spindrop: This Blog, Our Projects and Our Services. Dave Dash is an alumnus of the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and sports a background of Math, Computer Science and Library and Information Science. His formal education is supplemented by his tenacious thirst for knowledge specifically in the field of web development.
Dave Dash has been writing on the web since the late 90s before the term blog was coined and has used that energy to turn the Spindrop blog into an outlet for technological evangelism specifically in the realm of web development. He promotes the (mostly open source) products that Spindrop utilizes in their projects including the symfony web framework and Zend Search Lucene to name a few.
Dave Dash's knowledge of web development would not be extensive if it wasn't for the transparent nature of the Internet and countless helpful people who've provided guidance. This is his way of giving back to the open source community. His hours of research in order to solve the problems of the world aren't kept to him or Spindrop as some sort of trade secret, but reformulated and packaged as tutorials or code samples in this blog.
